About Me

Multimedia Journalist

Makayla is a multimedia journalist and a recent graduate from Texas Southern University. She has a niche for sports and brings an enormous amount of energy with an alluring charisma into any and every story she reports. Makayla's breath of fresh air personality makes her stand out and gives the audience a sense of her own individuality. She also has an interest in other areas of communication like marketing and PR.

Portfolio of Work

Here's some of Makayla's work as a multimedia journalist. While Makayla attended school she was able to build her portfolio and work experience. She contributed many articles for her school's newspaper (TSU Herald). She worked at KTSU and KTSU2 (TSU's radio station) as a news/sports anchor, reporter and also as executive producer for the KTSU2 sports team. She also worked closely with TSU's athletic department covering sports events and games.

KTSU2 Sports Anchors

In February 2019 Texas Southern launched it's student ran radio station KTSU2 the voice. Makayla was hired to be one of the first ever KTSU2 news/sports anchor. She was also assigned to be the executive producer for the KTSU2 sports team. Makayla was even given the opportunity to become radio personality for KTSU2. She was one of the three hosts for KTSU2 sports show "True To the Game".

APL Package

Makayla worked with The American Patriot Football League for a short amount of time as the league was gearing up begin it's season. Makayla produced this package as she was working for them.

Texas Southern University's new library package

Makayla produced a package on TSU's new library that was in construction at the time.

TSU Herald's Sports Podcast

Makayla contributed many things to TSU Herald (TSU's Newspaper). While working as a writer for the newspaper she also participated in their newly produced sports podcast "Out of Bounds"that discussed the latest topics in sports from TSU to professional .
